The Seventh Annual Women in the World Summit once again brought international leaders together in New York City April 6-8th at the David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center, to share their perspectives on where women stand in the world today.
Presented by Tina Brown Live Media in association with the New York Times, the speakers included Meryl Streep; Former First Lady Laura Bush, Barbara Pierce Bush; First Lady of Afghanistan Rula Ghani; IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde; actor, writer and producer Mindy Kaling; Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad; President and CEO of Mastercard Ajay Banga; Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo Indra Nooyi; Fox News anchor and journalist Megyn Kelly, and many more.
2016 marked the fifth year that the Summit selected Rainbow Broadband as their exclusive Internet provider. Its thousands of attendees and organizers experienced seamless Internet via a high speed 300 Mbps connection, made specifically for the event and production company Overland Entertainment by Rainbow Broadband.
Such a media-intensive conference comes with large bandwidth demands: Rainbow Broadband’s network supported 36 WiFi access points across seven WiFi networks. Together with nearly 100 Rainbow-supplied hard lines, it enabled live streaming via LiveStream, intensive social media sharing, press, stage presentations, production infrastructure, kiosks and much more. The custom network was overseen onsite at all times by Rainbow Broadband engineers, who maintained the network’s bulletproof reliability.
Rainbow Broadband made extensive use of equipment from Ruckus Wireless for WITW. Ruckus is notable in the tech world for having a female CEO in Selina Lo, the highly accomplished entrepreneur who took on that title at the company in 2006.
“It is always a pleasure to return to Lincoln Center, which stands as one of the most prestigious event venues in the world,” says Russ Hamm, President of Rainbow Broadband. “We enjoyed being a part of WITW for 2016, and our harmonious collaboration with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) throughout.”
With its proven expertise in supplying New York City events with customized connectivity solutions, Rainbow Broadband has supported global brands including Google, Microsoft, HP, Samsung, Twitter, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Glade, Global Citizen Festival, and many more.
Rainbow Broadband frequently creates networks that support thousands of people in 48 hours or less. Rainbow Broadband can customize services to each event’s unique specifications, providing multiple Wi-Fi networks and passwords, separate VLANs, and hard lines with specific bandwidth profiles for live streaming.
