Rainbow Puts The Internet In "Internet Week New York"

Carrier class network made specifically for New York City connects technology event for third consecutive year

Rainbow Broadband, a leading provider of broadband to New York City businesses and events, will be the Internet provider at Internet Week New York (IWNY) HQ for the third consecutive year.

A fixed wireless provider that maintains its own carrier class network made specifically for NYC, Rainbow Broadband will supply all Internet connectivity at IWNY HQ, at Chelsea’s Metropolitan Pavilion. An annual celebration of technology’s impact on business and culture, IWNY takes place this year from May 18-24th.

Large crowds of entrepreneurs are expected to pack IWNY HQ at the Metropolitan Pavilion daily, and the Internet connectivity of their portable devices, tablets, and computers will all be enabled by Rainbow Broadband. A fast 300 Mbps upload/download link will power the venue’s WiFi access points and hard lines, ensuring that attendees and staff can stream even HD video and audio at top speed.

“Metropolitan Pavilion is one of a growing number of New York City venues that have found the solution in Rainbow Broadband,” says Russ Hamm, President of Rainbow Broadband. “Our highly-reliable, fixed wireless network provides the venue and the thousands participating in Internet Week with all the connectivity they need. We’re proud to be a part of IWNY for the third consecutive year.”

“Without a highly reliable Internet connection at our HQ, there is no Internet Week New York,” says Scott Isebrand, COO and Vice President, Metropolitan Pavilion. “Rainbow Broadband has always provided seamless service for IWNY – they’re an important way that Internet Week New York lives up to its name.”

The Metropolitan Pavilion is a 60,000 square foot venue that has become a flagship of event production in Chelsea. But like many busy event spaces in New York City, the Metropolitan Pavilion found that their legacy infrastructure was not always providing sufficient bandwidth for their clientele, leaving event attendees frustrated that they did not have an “always-on” experience. Now, as a member of VenueNet, a growing network of Rainbow Broadband-enabled venues, Metropolitan Pavilion can assure its event clients that their Internet needs will be met with flexibility and proven dependability. Rainbow Broadband can customize services to each event’s unique specifications, providing multiple Wi-Fi networks and passwords, separate VLANs, and hard lines with specific bandwidth profiles for live streaming.

With its proven expertise in connecting New York City events to customized connectivity solutions, Rainbow Broadband has supported global brands including Google, Microsoft, HP, Samsung, Twitter, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and many more. Connectivity for events is available at VenueNets, as well as for on-demand service in locations throughout New York City, with Rainbow Broadband frequently creating networks that support thousands of people in 48 hours or less.
